The security measures are in place to ensure the safety of participants and citizens, with a focus on preventing any untoward incidents during the mourning processions. The ban on pillion riding and the deployment of security personnel are part of the efforts to maintain law and order in the city.

The Karachi administration has imposed a two-day ban on pillion riding in the city under Section 144 in view of Youm-e-Ali, excluding women, children, elderly, and journalists, to ensure strict security measures during the mourning processions.
The ban, which will be in effect from 21st to 22nd Ramadan, is part of the security arrangements for the central procession, with 5367 police officers and personnel deployed for duty. Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho reviewed the security arrangements, which include the installation of walk-through gates at entry and exit points, and searches by bomb disposal squad and Special Branch personnel.
Mourning processions were held across Pakistan on the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA), with thousands of police and security personnel deployed, snipers on rooftops, and roads sealed off. In Lahore, over 7,000 police personnel were deployed, while 2,000 were deployed in Quetta. Roads were blocked with containers, and traffic diversions were issued in Karachi to ensure the smooth flow of the procession.
The Karachi police announced a comprehensive security plan for the Youm-i-Ali procession, which includes the deployment of 5,367 personnel, including 76 senior officers, 725 NGOs, and 815 traffic police personnel. The police will maintain the flow of traffic, install walk-through gates, and conduct a comprehensive search of participants with the bomb disposal squad and special branch personnel.
Citizens are urged to report any suspicious activity to Madadgar 15, and rescue agencies and ambulance services have been put on alert for any emergency. The procession, commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali, will take place on a day yet to be specified, with the city's administration and security personnel working together to ensure a peaceful and secure event.
