Youm-e-Ali Observed with Fervour, Security Tightened

Pakistan is observing Youm-e-Ali with great religious fervour, as mourning processions are being taken out in major cities and towns, including Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and Quetta, with tight security measures in place to ensure a peaceful observance.

In Karachi, the main procession will commence from Nishtar Park and culminate at Hussainiya Iranain Imambargah, while in Lahore, it will begin from Mubarak Haveli and end at Karbala Gamay Shah at Iftar time. The Karachi Traffic Police have announced a detailed traffic management plan to facilitate the central Youm-e-Ali procession, with alternative routes provided for commuters to prevent congestion.

A total of 5,367 personnel, including senior officers, head constables, and women police personnel, will be deployed to ensure security during the procession. The police will also set up walk-through gates and conduct a comprehensive search of participants, with rescue agencies and ambulance services on standby in case of an emergency.

The public is advised to report any suspicious activity or unusual situation to Madadgar 15, and to plan their travel ahead to avoid disruptions during the procession. With the security plan in place, the observance of Youm-e-Ali is expected to be peaceful and respectful, allowing devotees to pay their respects to the revered figure of Ali.
