WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that will allow users to share motion photos in chats, groups, and channels, providing an immersive way to capture memories with a few seconds of video and audio before and after a photo is taken.

The feature, which has been spotted in the latest beta version 2.2.25.12, will enable users to share motion photos in individual chats, group chats, and channels, with recipients viewing them in their animated form, even if the feature is not supported on their device. Motion photos are a unique media format that combines video and audio, allowing users to capture a few seconds of movement before and after a photo is taken.

Additionally, WhatsApp is working on other features, including the ability to save photos and videos from their own status updates, and a feature that lets users add social media links to their profiles, with privacy settings to control who can see these links. The platform is also testing a feature to turn off the camera before answering video calls and has introduced a new Call Menu feature, replacing the old voice and video call buttons.

The new features are part of WhatsApp's efforts to enhance media-sharing capabilities and provide users with more control over their interactions on the platform. The features are currently available in beta versions and will be rolled out to more users in the coming days or weeks.

As WhatsApp continues to develop and test new features, users can expect a more engaging and interactive experience on the platform, with the ability to share motion photos and other media in a more immersive and dynamic way.
