Mirwais Azizi Donates to Ramadan Campaign

The campaign and donation will have a significant impact on healthcare in the UAE and beyond, providing access to medical services and treatment for millions of people, and introducing the latest cancer treatment technology.

Mohammed bin Rashid has launched the Fathers' Endowment Ramadan campaign, a AED 1 billion initiative to provide treatment and healthcare to the poor and needy, with Dubai businessman Mirwais Azizi donating Dh3 billion to build a non-profit hospital in Dubai.

The campaign coincides with the "Year of Community" declared by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and aims to provide sustainable healthcare for millions, addressing global healthcare challenges such as limited access to medical services and rising rates of mental health issues. The endowment fund will support healthcare systems, provide medicine, and treatment to those who cannot afford it.

Donations can be made in fathers' names, reinforcing the values of honouring parents and social solidarity. The campaign is part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), which has a mission to consolidate over 30 initiatives and organisations championed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The campaign follows previous successful Ramadan campaigns, including the "10 Million Meals" and "1 Billion Meals" initiatives.

Mirwais Azizi's donation is in memory of his daughter Farishta, who died of cancer. The hospital will offer free and affordable cancer care, and have a research facility to introduce the latest cancer treatment technology. The hospital will be part of a humanitarian medical complex with a research center and medical training facility. Construction will begin this year, and similar hospitals will be built in several countries worldwide.

The Fathers' Endowment Ramadan campaign and Mirwais Azizi's donation reflect the UAE's commitment to providing healthcare and support to those in need, and set an example for philanthropy and community service.
