Earthquake Swat: Recent Tremors Hit Pakistan
The frequency of earthquakes in the region has raised concerns about the need for enhanced disaster preparedness and infrastructure resilience, with authorities urged to take proactive measures to mitigate the impact of seismic activity on communities.

A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of four struck Zhob and neighboring Sherani district in Balochistan, causing panic among residents and forcing them to flee their homes, this is the third earthquake to hit the region in the past month.
The earthquake occurred at 2:11pm with a depth of 22 kilometers and its epicenter was located 13km west of Zhob town. Tremors were felt across a vast area, causing fear among locals. No casualties or major damage have been reported, but survey teams have been dispatched to assess potential losses.
This recent earthquake is not an isolated incident, as a 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Saturday night, with its epicentre located 8 km southeast of Rawalpindi at a depth of 17 km. Another 4.8 magnitude earthquake struck 8km southeast of Rawalpindi on February 15 at 10:48pm, with no casualties or damage reported.
The incident highlights Pakistan's inherent seismic risks, prompting authorities to review building codes and emergency response protocols to ensure the safety of residents in the event of future earthquakes.
