Pakistan Railway Restores Shah Hussain Express Service

The restored train service and special trains will cater to the needs of passengers traveling between Karachi and Lahore, as well as those attending the annual Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, promoting convenient and accessible transportation in the region.

Pakistan Railways has announced the restoration of the Shah Hussain Express train service between Karachi and Lahore, effective from February 25, 2025, with the train making stops at several cities before reaching its destination.

The train will have a total of 15 coaches, including 10 economy class coaches, 2 AC business class coaches, 2 AC standard class coaches, 1 power plant, and a brake van. The Shah Hussain Express (43 Up) will depart Karachi Cantt at 7:30pm and arrive in Lahore the next day at 2:15pm, while the Shah Hussain Express (44 Dn) will leave Lahore at 7pm and reach Karachi Cantt at 2:05pm the following day.

In addition to the restoration of the Shah Hussain Express, Pakistan Railways will also operate two special trains to facilitate devotees traveling to Sehwan Sharif for the annual Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. The first Sehwan Special Train will depart Faisalabad on February 14 at 10pm and arrive at Sehwan Sharif at 2:15pm the next day, while the second train will depart Lahore on February 15 at 3pm and arrive at Sehwan Sharif at 9am the following day.

The special trains will also operate on the return journey, providing convenient travel options for pilgrims attending the annual Urs. With the restoration of the Shah Hussain Express and the operation of special trains, Pakistan Railways aims to provide efficient and comfortable travel services to its passengers.
