The Jaffar Express train has resumed its services after a 17-day suspension due to a terrorist attack, with 280 passengers on board, including 28 traveling from Peshawar to Quetta.

The train, consisting of 10 carriages, was attacked by the Baloch Liberation Army on March 11, resulting in the deaths of 26 passengers and 33 terrorists, as well as four security personnel. Inter-Services Public Relations Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry blamed India for sponsoring terrorism in Balochistan, stating that the attack on the Jaffar Express was part of the same policy.

Federal Minister Amir Muqam was present at the departure ceremony, bidding farewell to the passengers and offering prayers for their safe journey. He also commended the government's economic stability under PM Shehbaz Sharif and praised the transparent distribution of the Prime Minister's Ramazan package. Muqam criticized the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, alleging favoritism and overlooking thousands of deserving people in the CM Ramazan Package.

The resumption of the Jaffar Express train service is seen as a significant development, with stringent security arrangements in place to ensure the safety of passengers. The train's restoration has led to a loss of Rs9 million for the railways authorities, but it is expected to run regularly now, completing its 34-hour journey from Peshawar to Quetta.
