Pakistan Preps for ICC Champions Trophy
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will feature high-profile matches, including Pakistan vs. India and England vs. Australia, with the Gaddafi Stadium and National Bank Stadium set to provide a world-class experience.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a grand opening ceremony for the renovated Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, featuring performances by renowned Pakistani singers Ali Zafar, Aima Baig, and Arif Lohar, ahead of the first match against New Zealand on February 8.
The ceremony, scheduled for February 7, will include a light show, live singing, and fireworks, and will be attended by Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The stadium's renovation, supervised by PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, has transformed it into a world-class venue, meeting international standards. The event marks the completion of extensive renovation work ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will be co-hosted by Pakistan and the UAE.
The Gaddafi Stadium will host four Champions Trophy matches, including a high-profile clash between England and Australia on February 22 and a semi-final on March 5. The final is scheduled to be held in Lahore, unless India qualifies, in which case it will be moved to Dubai. The tournament will feature a much-anticipated match between Pakistan and India on February 23 in Dubai, while the opening match will see hosts Pakistan face New Zealand in Karachi.
In addition to the Gaddafi Stadium, Karachi's National Bank Stadium has also undergone upgrades, with new LED lights installed to improve illumination. Two out of six light towers have been tested and are in operation, ensuring better visibility for patrons and events. The PCB chief will also host a dinner to honor the workers who contributed to the stadium's extensive refurbishment.
With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 just around the corner, Pakistan is gearing up to host a successful tournament, showcasing its capabilities as a host nation. The renovated Gaddafi Stadium and upgraded National Bank Stadium are set to provide a world-class experience for players and spectators alike.
