NADRA Biker Service Karachi Launch
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced its Biker Service in Karachi, allowing citizens to renew their CNICs and other documents from the comfort of their own homes. The service, which is available from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, can be accessed by calling the NADRA helpline and paying an additional fee of Rs1,000.
The NADRA Biker Service is currently being run by three motorcycles and will be expanded to Hyderabad and Mirpur Khas in the future. The service was launched by DG Ehtasham Shahid, who stated that citizens will no longer need to visit NADRA offices to collect their documents, as the bikers will deliver them directly. This initiative aims to provide convenience and ease to citizens, especially those who have difficulty visiting NADRA offices in person.
In addition to the Biker Service, NADRA is also shifting its registration services from its website to a new mobile app, effective January 17, 2025. The decision was taken to address issues faced by citizens, particularly overseas Pakistanis, who struggled with the website's interface. The app will offer all services previously available on the website, including ID cards, NICOP, POC, B-Forms, and FRCs. Furthermore, three new regional offices will be established in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan to improve service delivery in remote areas.
The introduction of the NADRA Biker Service and the shift to a mobile app are significant steps towards improving the convenience and accessibility of NADRA's services. The authority's efforts to expand its services and improve its infrastructure will likely have a positive impact on citizens, particularly those in remote areas. With the website being shut down due to security concerns, the mobile app is expected to provide a more secure and user-friendly experience for citizens.
