Microsoft is set to start preorders for its Xbox ROG Ally and Xbox ROG Ally X handheld consoles during Gamescom in Cologne, Germany on August 20th, with prices expected to be revealed, including €599 for the Xbox Ally and €899 for the Xbox Ally X.

The Xbox ROG Ally series, developed in collaboration with ASUS, features high-end specs, including AMD Ryzen Z2 A APU, 16GB-24GB RAM, 512GB-1TB SSD, and 60Wh-80Wh battery. Both models will run Windows 11 with Xbox integration, supporting Game Pass, Steam, and other platforms. This move aims to compete with the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch 2, but some consider the price point to be high.

Gamescom attendees will also have access to upcoming titles at the ASUS ROG booth, and the handheld consoles will be showcased during Microsoft's live stream on August 20, where pricing details, release plans, and pre-order links will be revealed. The release date is rumored to be in October, and US prices are expected to range between $599 and $899.

The Xbox ROG Ally and Ally X pre-orders will open at Gamescom, and the handhelds are expected to be released in October 2025, making them a highly anticipated addition to the gaming market. With their high-end specs and Xbox integration, they are likely to attract a lot of attention from gamers.
