Robin Roberts, the 64-year-old anchor of "Good Morning America," has taken a temporary leave from the show to celebrate her 20th anniversary with her wife, Amber Laign, in Kigali, Rwanda, where they volunteered and spent time with young basketball players from across Africa.

The couple, both breast cancer survivors, marked the milestone by participating in a national day of service and community activities, which Laign described as an "incredible journey" that reinforced the importance of connection, purpose, and giving back. Roberts shared photos and updates on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate with Laign and reflecting on their experiences in Rwanda.

Roberts and Laign have been together since 2005 and got married in September 2023. They have credited their long-term commitment to communication, trust, and keeping things fresh, despite maintaining separate living arrangements in Connecticut and New York City. The trip to Rwanda has been filled with volunteer work, community service, and giving back to youth communities, with several members of the ABC family expressing their excitement for the couple's travels.

Roberts will return to "Good Morning America" on August 4, bringing with her the inspiration and joy from her anniversary celebration with Laign. The couple's commitment to each other and their dedication to giving back to the community serve as a heartwarming reminder of the importance of love, connection, and service.
