Hayley Holt, a 44-year-old former TVNZ presenter, has left her role after 30 years of working in the media industry due to restructuring and cost-cutting, and is now excited to start a new chapter in her life, exploring new ventures and prioritizing her family.

Holt had been working as a sports presenter and had planned to return to work after maternity leave in January, but her role was merged with another presenter, requiring longer hours that she couldn't contemplate as a mum. She decided to leave instead, choosing to step away from the role rather than compete for the new position. Holt is feeling optimistic about the future and has already started a qualification in financial services, considering other projects, including a new venture with her partner Josh.

Holt has been open about her struggles with grief and anxiety, particularly after the loss of her baby in 2020, and credits TVNZ with providing her with support and understanding during this difficult time. She is grateful for the opportunities she had at TVNZ, where she worked as a breakfast host and sports presenter, and is excited to start a new career that prioritizes her family, including her two young sons, Raven and Kingston.

As Holt embarks on this new chapter, she is determined to make the most of her time with her family and is enjoying the opportunity to be more present and involved in her sons' lives, looking forward to the next chapter of her life and excited to see what the future holds, with a sense of optimism and gratitude for the support of her loved ones and her experience at TVNZ.
