Nepal is expected to experience partly cloudy weather today, with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms expected in several provinces, including Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

The monsoon winds are affecting the entire country, with the monsoon trough located near its average position, resulting in a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some hilly areas. Heavy rain is also predicted in one or two locations in Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. The high-hill and mountainous regions are likely to experience light to moderate rain and snowfall.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces on Friday, July 4, due to intensified monsoon activity. The weather is expected to be generally cloudy nationwide, with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms at many places. The Kathmandu Valley is likely to experience partly to generally cloudy skies with a 60% probability of rainfall.

The public has been advised to remain alert, especially in flood- and landslide-prone areas, as continuous rainfall could trigger rising river levels, flash floods, and landslides. The Weather Forecasting Division warns of flood and landslide risks, urging the public to stay alert for possible inundation and adopt necessary precautions.
