Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India's military capabilities and self-reliance in the defense sector, citing the success of Operation Sindoor, where Indian forces made Pakistan surrender in 22 minutes, showcasing the country's firm stance against terrorism.

Operation Sindoor, a covert operation launched by India in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, targeted over 20 terror camps in Pakistan and PoK, involving missile strikes on nine terror camps. The operation was planned and executed in May 2025, with a focus on precision and minimal damage to civilian population and military installations.

The Prime Minister credited 'Made in India' defense equipment for the decisive role played in the operation, emphasizing the government's efforts to make India self-reliant in the defense sector. He also mentioned the government's welfare schemes, such as housing, drinking water, and health insurance, which have empowered deprived and backward sections of society.

The Cabinet Committee on Security, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, finalized the list of targets, with a focus on terror installations and no harm to civilians. The operation was carried out with a free hand to the forces, allowing them to take down any terror camp while keeping in mind the factors discussed.

The success of Operation Sindoor demonstrates India's growing capabilities and its commitment to becoming self-reliant in various sectors, including defense, as the country moves towards becoming the world's third-largest economy.
