Indian forces launched a swift and decisive operation, codenamed "Operation Sindoor," in response to Pakistan's ceasefire violation on May 7-8, flattening multiple forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) within 10 minutes.

The operation was a direct response to a terror attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 civilians, and was part of a larger effort to counter Pakistan's unprovoked aggression. Indian forces utilized medium machine guns (MMGs) and anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) to destroy Pakistani posts and inflict heavy casualties. The Indian Army's military post in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, had come under fire from Pakistan on the intervening night of May 6-7, prompting a swift retaliation that destroyed 13 enemy posts within three minutes.

A colonel, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that the Indian Army had a pre-coordinated fire plan to target the enemy posts, demonstrating the military's preparedness and effectiveness in responding to ceasefire violations. The operation also targeted nine terror launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including those in the Leepa Valley, within 25 minutes.

The Indian government has taken a firm stance against terrorism emanating from Pakistan, dispatching all-party delegations to various countries to explain its position and justify its military response. With its military on high alert, India remains ready to retaliate to any future ceasefire violations, underscoring its commitment to protecting its citizens and sovereignty.
