Abdullah Shah Ghazi Holiday 2025 Marks Spiritual Unity

The public holiday announcement is in accordance with Council Resolution No. 594 dated January 27, 2005, and all KMC offices under its jurisdiction will be closed, except for those providing essential services, ensuring a smooth and peaceful celebration of the Urs.

The 1295th Annual Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi (RA) has been inaugurated in Karachi by Acting Governor of Sindh, Syed Awais Qadir Shah, who emphasized the importance of following the teachings of saints like Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi, promoting love, tolerance, and unity in society.

During the event, the Acting Governor placed a ceremonial chadar on the shrine, recited Fatiha, and offered special prayers for the nation's peace, progress, and prosperity. He also interacted with devotees and reviewed arrangements for them, highlighting the Sindh government's priority of providing facilities to devotees visiting shrines, ensuring a better, safe, and dignified environment.

The Urs was described as a spiritual gathering uniting people from different schools of thought, and Sindh was hailed as the land of Sufis, dervishes, and people of heart where love, tolerance, and public service flourish. To mark the occasion, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has announced a public holiday on June 19, 2025, which coincides with the 22nd Zill-Hajj, 1446 A.H.

The holiday is expected to facilitate devotees and the general public in participating in the Urs celebrations, promoting a sense of community and spiritual unity. With the Sindh government's efforts to provide a safe and dignified environment for devotees, the 1295th Annual Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi (RA) is set to be a memorable and meaningful event.
