Indian Aggression Sparks War Fears, Bilawal Warns

Tensions between India and Pakistan remain high, with former Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari warning that the threshold for war has reached an "historic low" following a recent military standoff, despite a US-brokered ceasefire announced in May.

Bilawal expressed concern that another attack, regardless of proof, could immediately trigger war, and that Pakistan's call for dialogue and diplomacy to address outstanding issues, including terrorism and Kashmir, remains unchanged. He criticized India's stance on the Indus Waters Treaty, saying that delayed water releases could harm Pakistan's agriculture, and defended Pakistan's counterterrorism record, highlighting the country's removal from the FATF grey list as proof of progress.

Pakistan has called for intervention from global powers in resolving key issues with India amid ongoing tensions, with a high-level delegation led by Bilawal presenting Islamabad's stance in London, Washington, and New York. The delegation met with UK's Middle East minister, senior lawmakers, and the United Nations Secretary-General to convey Pakistan's perspective on the recent escalation, stressing that India's actions constituted a clear violation of Pakistan's sovereignty, international law, and the United Nations Charter.

Bilawal warned that India's move to unilaterally hold the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance undermines international norms and sets a perilous precedent, and called for global action to support meaningful dialogue and respect for international commitments. He praised US President Donald Trump's mediation efforts to stop a possible war between the two countries, and expressed hope that the US will keep its promise to resolve key issues between the two countries, including the Kashmir dispute.

As tensions between India and Pakistan continue to simmer, the international community is urged to take notice of the escalating situation and support efforts towards peaceful resolution, with Bilawal's diplomatic mission aiming to present Pakistan's stance on the conflict to international leaders and prevent further escalation.
