Gujranwala Courtroom Shooting Leaves Two Dead

A murder case suspect opened fire in a courtroom in Gujranwala, killing two witnesses, Saqib and Ali Butt, and injuring two others during a hearing at Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Aslam's court. The suspect, who was later identified as Azan Abdul Razzaq, brought a weapon into the courtroom and shot the witnesses who were testifying against him.

The incident occurred on April 29, and the suspect was arrested by security personnel and citizens. However, in a subsequent incident, Azan Abdul Razzaq was killed in an "encounter" with police near Ladhewala Warraich village. The police team was taking him to identify accomplices when his armed associates intercepted the vehicle and snatched him, leading to a crossfire that resulted in his death.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident, reviewing CCTV footage to determine how the suspect managed to bring a weapon into the courtroom. Punjab IGP Dr Usman Anwar has taken notice of the shootout and directed the City Police Officer (CPO) Gujranwala to arrest all suspects involved and utilize all available resources to bring the perpetrators to justice without delay.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and a thorough investigation is underway to ensure that justice is served. The police are working to identify and apprehend all those involved in the incident, and a detailed report has been sought from the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Gujranwala.
