Quetta Attack: Policemen Martyred in Terrorist Firing
The attack on the police van in Quetta's Sariab area has raised concerns about the growing threat of terrorism in the region, with the government and security forces facing increased pressure to protect citizens and prevent future attacks.

Three policemen were martyred and one sustained injuries when unidentified assailants opened fire on a police van on Saryab Road in Quetta, prompting a manhunt by security forces and condemnation from the Balochistan government.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night when armed men on motorcycles attacked a police mobile van parked near a restaurant, killing Inspector Abdul Wali, Constable Abdul Rehman, and Constable Mukhtiar, and injuring driver Khair Bakhsh. This attack is the second on security personnel in Quetta in as many days, following the killing of a Frontier Corps personnel in Noshki area on Tuesday.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti condemned the attack and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice, assuring a full-scale operation against terrorists. The government has assured that the sacrifices of security forces will not go in vain and that those responsible will be held accountable.
The attack is part of a surge in terrorist activities in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021. The Balochistan government has reiterated its commitment to eliminating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
As the investigation into the attack continues, the people of Quetta and the wider region remain on high alert, with security forces working to prevent further incidents and bring those responsible to justice.
