DG ISPR Briefs Parties on India Tensions, PTI Boycotts
The briefing and boycott have highlighted the need for a united front among political parties in Pakistan, with PTI reiterating its commitment to national security and sovereignty, and the government assuring the nation of its preparedness to defend against external aggression, as the situation with India continues to unfold.

A high-level security briefing was held for political parties to discuss the situation with India, following the Pahalgam attack, with DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry assuring a "befitting reply" to any aggression from India, while PTI boycotted the briefing, urging for an All Parties Conference instead.
The briefing was attended by a large number of leaders from various political parties, including the PPP, JUI-F, and others, where Pakistan's armed forces assured them of their preparedness to defend the country against external aggression. The assurance came amid ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India, following the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which left 26 people dead. Pakistan has denied allegations of involvement in the attack and has taken reciprocal measures against India.
DG ISPR stated that Pakistan wants peace in the region and is ready to give a befitting reply if aggression is imposed. The information minister briefed on the government's diplomatic measures and stance, including the decision to brief the United Nations Security Council on India's aggressive actions. The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has called for restraint and the resumption of dialogue between Pakistan and India, while also urging the international community to find a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir issue.
The situation remains tense, with Pakistan accelerating efforts to prepare for potential military action by India, particularly in vulnerable areas along the Line of Control (LoC). The country has increased reserves in forward locations to meet residents' needs for two months and relocated food depots to safer zones, as the international community continues to call for restraint and dialogue to resolve the issue peacefully.
