LUMS Education Conference Showcases Innovative Solutions

The Syed Ahsan Ali and Syed Maratib Ali School of Education at LUMS hosted its fourth annual Practicum Showcase Conference, featuring capstone projects developed by MPhil Education Leadership and Management students in collaboration with education sector organisations, addressing pressing challenges in Pakistan's education system.

The conference brought together over 400 attendees, including faculty members, students, senior LUMS administration, and education sector experts, to discuss and showcase projects on pedagogy, inclusive education, and educational technology. Keynote speaker Baela Raza Jamil emphasized the need for bold, local solutions and meaningful partnerships to reimagine education for the future, highlighting the importance of engaging the mind, heart, and gut in the process.

The event included workshops, student presentations, and panel discussions on pressing challenges in the education sector and potential practical solutions. Dean of SOE, Dr. Tayyaba Tamim, highlighted the significance of academic-practitioner collaboration and the importance of teacher wellbeing in humanizing education systems and policies. The conference showcased the commitment of the Syed Ahsan Ali and Syed Maratib Ali School of Education at LUMS to bridging academic theory with real-world realities and cultivating education leaders for systemic reform.
