Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan People's Party, has reiterated his party's commitment to safeguarding the rights of the masses, particularly with regards to the Indus River, which he believes is the foundation of Pakistan's culture and history.

Addressing a public gathering in Mirpur Khas, Bilawal criticized the government's decision to build new canals on the Indus River, terming it a unilateral and infeasible move. He also accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of attempting to create conflict through water politics, emphasizing that any interference with the river will be met with a strong response from his party.

The PPP Chairman dismissed India's allegations against Pakistan, challenging the Indian government to present solid proof. He expressed hope that both Pakistani and Indian citizens would stand together to protect the Indus River, which is a vital component of the region's ecosystem. Bilawal also shared the government's development plans for Tharparkar, aiming to improve the lives of the local population.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Peoples Party staged a 'Pakistan Zindaabad' rally in Karachi to counter India's hostile posturing and celebrate the shelving of the controversial canals project. The rally, which started from Tower and ended at the Sindh Assembly Chowk, turned into a public gathering where PPP leader Saeed Ghani addressed the crowd, paying tribute to the martyrs of the 1886 Chicago labour movement and responding to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's provocations.

In a related development, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Ali Muhammad Khan announced that the party will issue a show-cause notice to former President Arif Alvi if it is proven that he approved the controversial canals project in Sindh during his presidency. This move comes after Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari claimed that the project was approved during Alvi's presidency, prompting the PTI to seek evidence and clarification on the matter.
