Sahir Hassan, son of veteran actor Sajid Hassan, has been granted bail by the Sindh High Court in a drug recovery case, with the condition of submitting a Rs1 million surety bond, after a constitutional bench heard arguments from both parties.

The bail was approved after the court considered the arguments presented by the prosecution and the defense. Sahir was earlier booked under narcotics charges by the Karachi South police, and an interim challan had alleged that he had transferred proceeds from drug sales to a bank account managed by his father's manager. However, the manager failed to provide evidence or financial records when summoned by the court.

In a separate case, the Sindh High Court has directed the federal government to appoint a federal member from Sindh to the Indus River System Authority (Irsa) by May 22. The court was hearing a petition regarding the appointment of the federal member from Sindh and observed that necessary legislative amendments may be made to prevent similar controversies in the future. The court also noted that the Sindh province is a lower riparian state and its representation should be protected.

The Sindh High Court has also dismissed the bail plea of a man involved in the murder case of educationist Syed Khalid Raza. The applicant was accused of financing the murder, arranging the murder weapon, and orchestrating surveillance of the deceased. The prosecution relied on CDR analysis, which showed communication between the applicant and the deceased, as well as monetary transactions with co-accused.

The court's decisions in these cases demonstrate its commitment to upholding the law and ensuring that justice is served. The appointment of a federal member from Sindh to Irsa is a significant development, and the court's direction to the federal government to make the appointment by May 22 is a positive step towards resolving the issue.
