Bangalore Hosts Wolverhampton-Bangalore Research Centre

The Wolverhampton-Bangalore Research and Innovation Centre was inaugurated in Bengaluru on April 22, 2025, by Dr. M.C. Sudhakar, Minister for Higher Education of Karnataka, marking a significant collaboration between Bangalore City University and the University of Wolverhampton, UK.

The centre aims to focus on key areas such as climate resilience, healthcare, smart cities and villages, energy security, and waste-to-wealth initiatives, among others. By facilitating scholar exchange programmes, joint PhD opportunities, seminars, and conferences, the centre seeks to foster international academic collaboration and drive innovation in these critical fields.

The inauguration event highlighted the importance of global collaboration in sustainable development and healthcare innovation, with a symposium on 'The Future of Healthcare' and 'Green Research'. The centre's establishment is expected to strengthen ties between the UK and India in the fields of research and education, with a focus on addressing pressing global challenges.
