Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed his government's commitment to combating terrorism, stating that Pakistan's enemies are intimidated by its economic progress, and the fight against terrorism will continue with full force.

The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the efforts of institutions and provinces in combating terrorism and assured full cooperation to enhance their capacity. He also praised security forces for their sacrifices and called for unity to eliminate terrorism. Furthermore, the government has established a national and provincial intelligence fusion and threat assessment center under the National Action Committee for the Coordination and Implementation of Counter-Terrorism (NACTA).

In addition to its counter-terrorism efforts, the government has announced a special package of Rs15 billion for wheat farmers in Punjab, providing relief to 550,000 farmers through a waiver of water charges and fixed taxes. The Prime Minister also launched a new performance management system for Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officers, which includes a data-driven decision-making system and a digital invoicing system, aiming to improve tax collection and plug loopholes in the system.

Pakistan has witnessed an increase in terror activities over the past year, with 79 terrorist attacks reported in February, resulting in the deaths of 55 civilians and 47 security personnel. However, security forces have intensified counter-terrorism operations, eliminating 156 terrorists, injuring 20, and arresting 66. The Prime Minister has vowed to inflict a "crushing defeat" on terrorists, ensuring they will "never dare cast an evil eye on Pakistan again".

The government's efforts to combat terrorism and boost the economy are crucial for Pakistan's stability and growth. With the implementation of the Safe City project in 10 cities in Punjab and similar projects being implemented in other cities, the government is taking significant steps to enhance surveillance and security response capabilities.
