The United Arab Emirates has introduced a new visa policy allowing Pakistani citizens to obtain five-year multiple-entry tourist visas, eliminating the need for sponsors and enhancing travel experiences for tourists and families.

This development marks a significant improvement in ties between the two nations, as the UAE had previously slowed down tourist visa issuance due to concerns over social media activities and alleged involvement in crime. The new rule enables families to visit and maintain connections without the stress of frequent short-term visa applications.

Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori recently visited the UAE consulate in Karachi, where he was warmly received by UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi and Consul General Bakheet Ateek Al Remeithi. The UAE has announced plans to issue five-year visas to 100,000 Pakistanis, and the Governor interacted with visa applicants who expressed gratitude for the services being provided.

The introduction of the five-year visa is a result of measures taken by Pakistan to curb begging in the UAE and other Middle Eastern countries. The UAE authorities had expressed reservations about Pakistani travelers resorting to begging on visit visas, but the Consul General of UAE in Karachi clarified that there was no ban on UAE visas for Pakistani nationals.

The new visa policy is expected to strengthen ties between Pakistan and the UAE, facilitating travel and reunions for families and friends. With the elimination of the need for sponsors, the five-year multiple-entry visa is set to enhance the travel experience for Pakistani citizens visiting the UAE.
