Pakistan UAE Visa Exemption Agreement Signed

Pakistan and the UAE have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on mutual exemption of visa entry requirements for diplomatic and official passports, aiming to strengthen cooperation in various sectors, including trade, banking, investment, energy, and information technology.
The agreement was signed during the 12th session of the Pakistan-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission, co-chaired by Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and the UAE's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The session discussed matters across multiple domains of bilateral cooperation, including trade, investment, energy, infrastructure development, and IT. Both countries emphasized the need to strengthen institutional mechanisms and promote inter-ministerial coordination to ensure follow-through on joint initiatives.
The UAE is Pakistan's third-largest trading partner and is home to over a million Pakistani expatriates, making the agreement significant for both countries. The visa exemption agreement is expected to facilitate travel and enhance people-to-people ties between the two nations. Additionally, MoUs were signed on establishment of a joint task force to promote investments, and artificial intelligence and digital economy, aiming to enhance cooperation in these areas.
