Xiaomi HyperOS 2.1 Update Coming Globally

Xiaomi is set to roll out its latest software update, HyperOS 2.1, globally in February 2025, bringing a range of exciting features and improvements to its devices. The update, which was initially released in China for high-end models, promises to refine the home screen UI, redesign the Control Center, and introduce smarter AI tools for enhanced photography.

The HyperOS 2.1 update is expected to first reach the 14 Ultra model, with other devices across regions receiving the update later. This new software version replaces the traditional "MIUI" name and offers an improved AI experience, including a "Super Xiao Ai" feature and possibly a walkie-talkie function. Additionally, the update is said to enhance gaming, camera performance, and home screen UX, and is based on Android 15.

Xiaomi has also introduced a unique feature called the Movie lock screen, which allows users to personalize their device's lock screen by applying a personal video or clip, offering a cinematic effect. The AI technology analyzes the video frame by frame to create a dynamic clock display, providing benefits such as artificial intelligence, dynamic effects, and personalization. This feature is currently available on devices running HyperOS 2.0, which is being rolled out to eligible devices in China and globally.
