Anil Kapoor and his brother Boney Kapoor performed the last rites for their mother, Nirmal Kapoor, by immersing her ashes in the Ganga river, a ritual that brought them peace and a sense of reunion with their late father, Surinder Kapoor.
The brothers were accompanied by spiritual leaders Swami Chidanand Saraswati and Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati during the ritual, which took place on June 24. Anil Kapoor shared the emotional moment on Instagram, expressing his grief and finding solace in the fact that his parents are now together again. Nirmal Kapoor passed away on May 2 at the age of 90 due to age-related illness. She was the matriarch of the Kapoor family and the grandmother to the latest generation, including Arjun Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, and others. The family has been grieving her loss, and the ritual of immersing her ashes in the Ganga river marked an important step in their healing process.
