Google has unveiled a vibrant new Doodle to commemorate the Persian New Year, Nowruz 2025, a 3,000-year-old tradition that signifies rebirth, the arrival of spring, and the triumph of light over evil, with millions celebrating across the globe.

The celebration, which marks the beginning of spring, coincides with the first day of spring on March 20. The Doodle was designed by Pendar Yousefi, a California-based UX designer who has a passion for storytelling and art. Nowruz, meaning "New Day" in Persian, is a time of renewal, hope, and unity, and the Google Doodle aims to capture the essence of this festive occasion.

The festival is marked by various customs, including spring cleaning, fire-jumping, and special meals. Families gather to visit relatives, exchange gifts, and indulge in traditional dishes like Ash Reshteh and Sabzi Polo ba Mahi. The 13-day celebration concludes with Sizdeh Bedar, a day dedicated to outdoor festivities and connecting with nature.

The Haft Sin table is a central part of Nowruz and a family tradition, consisting of seven items that start with the letter "s" in Persian, each carrying symbolic meaning. These items include sabzeh, samanu, senjed, seer, seeb, serkeh, and sumac, representing creation, balance, and the fundamental elements of life.

As people around the world celebrate Nowruz 2025, the Google Doodle serves as a reminder of the power of cultural exchange and appreciation, highlighting the festival's widespread observance across various regions and its message of unity, renewal, and hope. Navroz Mubarak to all those celebrating this joyous occasion.
