Remembering J. Lugo and Shirley J. Smith

Shirley J. Smith, 83, and Francisco J. Lugo, 68, passed away on March 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and family.
Shirley J. Smith was born on October 23, 1941, in Lilbourn, Missouri, and was known for her warm heart and love for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, including her husband, children, and 30 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Shirley also enjoyed soap operas, Westerns, and the St. Louis Cardinals, but her true joy was being with her family.
Francisco J. Lugo, a devoted husband, father, and friend, lived a life of great strength, deep love, and unwavering faith. He was happiest when spending time in nature, volunteering, and with his family. Lugo faced his battle with cancer with courage and trust in God's plan, leaving behind a legacy of generosity and love for others.
Both Shirley and Francisco will be deeply missed by their families and friends. A visitation will be held for Shirley on March 11-12, 2025, at the Desloge Chapel, followed by a funeral service. A vigil and rosary will be held for Francisco on March 9, 2025, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on March 10, 2025.
