Vicky Kaushal's historical drama film "Chhaava" has taken the box office by storm, earning over ₹67 crore in its first two days and reporting 95-97% occupancy in Maharashtra for Saturday night shows. The film, based on the book of the same name, tells the story of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and has already broken box office records.

The movie, directed by Laxman Utekar, has maintained its momentum at the box office on Day 2, collecting over Rs 60 crore net in India. It has become the biggest Hindi opener of 2025, surpassing Sky Force's Rs 15.3 crore record. The film collected Rs 36.5 crore net on its first Saturday, taking its two-day total to Rs 67.5 crore net. It had opened with a massive Rs 31 crore, setting a new Valentine's Day record.

The film's success can be attributed to its strong cast, including Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Divya Dutta, and Ashutosh Rana. The movie has done well not only in Maharashtra but also in other parts of the country, with 81% and 88% occupancy in Chennai and Hyderabad respectively. Many theatres in Mumbai and Pune have started midnight shows, while some have added 6 am and 1 am shows due to high demand.

With its impressive box office performance, Chhava is set to enter the ₹100 crore club and will be available for streaming on Netflix within 45-60 days. The film's success is a testament to the power of historical dramas and the appeal of Vicky Kaushal's performances.
