Salt Lake City Prepares for 2034 Winter Games

Brad Wilson, former Utah House Speaker, will lead the 2034 Winter Games as CEO of the new organizing committee, overseeing day-to-day operations for at least the next three years. Utah has officially begun work on the games, with a 25-person organizing committee led by Fraser Bullock, Brad Wilson, and Steve Starks.
The committee will oversee the final details, including athlete lodging, transportation, media coverage, cultural events, and venue arrangements. USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland praised the leadership group, saying they will build on the legacy of the 2002 Games. Utah Gov. Spencer Cox also expressed his support, highlighting the importance of strong leadership for the Games' success.
The committee's focus will shift from venue construction to community engagement, with a goal of impacting all 29 counties in Utah. Utah has formed a 35-member Olympic Organizing Committee, including Gov. Cox and Olympic athletes. Fraser Bullock, a veteran of the 2002 Winter Games, will serve as executive chair and president, overseeing strategy and relationship building.
With the leadership team in place, Utah is poised to host a successful 2034 Winter Games, building on the state's experience and legacy from the 2002 Games.
