India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025 due to a lower back injury, with Harshit Rana replacing him in the squad, while Varun Chakaravarthy has also been named in the final squad, replacing Yashasvi Jaiswal.

The Indian team will begin their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20 in Dubai, with Rohit Sharma as captain and Shubman Gill as vice-captain. Other notable players in the squad include Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and Ravindra Jadeja. Bumrah's injury is a significant blow to the team, as he has been out of action since the New Year's Test in Sydney, and despite undergoing a scan in Bengaluru, he is not yet ready to return to bowling.

The BCCI's medical team will monitor Bumrah's progress, with a likely return to running in a couple of weeks and gradual bowling resumption after that. Harshit Rana, who has impressed in the ongoing ODI series against England, taking four wickets in his first two matches, will look to fill the void left by Bumrah. Varun Chakaravarthy, who has made his ODI debut in the ongoing England series, replaces Yashasvi Jaiswal, who will be a non-travelling substitute along with Mohammed Siraj and Shivam Dube.

India's squad for the tournament looks strong, despite Bumrah's absence, and they will be looking to make a strong start against Bangladesh, followed by matches against Pakistan and New Zealand. The team will be hoping that Bumrah can recover quickly and return to action soon, but for now, they will have to rely on their other pace bowlers to deliver the goods.
