Rain, Fog Slowly Clearing for Veterans Day
Minnesota residents woke up to a soggy Sunday morning, as rain and fog blanketed the state. After a gloomy morning, conditions are expected to improve leading into Veterans Day, with partly sunny skies and cooler temperatures.
A dense fog advisory was in effect for southeastern Minnesota, reducing visibility and causing hazardous driving conditions. In the Twin Cities, steady rain persisted throughout the morning, gradually tapering off into scattered showers by mid-morning and then clearing by lunchtime. Isolated light spotty showers still popped up, but the afternoon remained dry, with temperatures ranging from the mid to low-50s and light winds.
Looking ahead, forecasters are predicting a marked improvement in conditions by veterans Day. Skies are expected to clear, with mostly sunny skies and a high of mid to upper-40s. A strong northwest wind will bring blustery conditions, making it feel even cooler. The lower temperatures will make for a crisp and invigorating day for outdoor activities, especially for those participating in Veterans Day parades and ceremonies.
As the state starts to clear out the remnants of the rain and fog, residents can look forward to a beautiful, if cool, Veterans Day. With partly sunny skies and generally dry conditions, the day promises to be a great opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy the day.
