Nagaland Celebrates Hok-Ah Festival
The Hok-Ah festival, a celebration of rest, peace, and reconciliation, was recently held in Langnok village, Noklak District, Nagaland, with Minister of Housing and Mechanical Engineering P Bashangmongba Chang and Lok Sabha MP S Supongmeren Jamir in attendance.
During the event, Chang expressed his concern about the impact of corruption on Eastern society and encouraged the Nokhu Range Public Organization (NRPO) to maintain peace and unity. He also emphasized the importance of self-reliance, citing limited government job opportunities, and called for the refinement of local craftsmanship. Chang advised the people to learn from experienced individuals and adapt to changes, highlighting the need for sustainable use of natural resources and district development.
The festival, which was attended by various dignitaries, including Khiamniungan Students’ Union President Shangchiu and former NRSU president Talamong, featured cultural performances, music, and dance. EAC Nokhu HQ Menlom Phom emphasized the value of reflecting on hard work and adapting to changes for sustainable development. Lok Sabha MP S Supongmeren Jamir, who addressed the 23rd Nokhu Range Public Organisation (NRPO) general session-cum-Hok-Ah festival 2025, emphasized that a progressive society requires a strong political vision, quality education, economic sustainability, and individuals with strong beliefs.
The Hok-Ah festival is a significant event in the Noklak district, promoting peace, unity, and reconciliation. The festival's theme, 'Progressive Society', reflects the importance of working together towards a common goal. With the support of dignitaries like Chang and Jamir, the people of Nagaland are encouraged to strive for a brighter future, built on the principles of self-reliance, sustainability, and strong community ties.
