Akshay Kumar Veer Pahariya Sky Force Soars

Updated :

Akshay Kumar's latest film, Sky Force, has taken the box office by storm, generating over Rs 2 crore in advance bookings and opening to a double-digit collection of Rs 11.25 crore on its first day of release. The war drama, directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur, is inspired by the 1965 Indo-Pak War and has been making headlines for its depiction of tensions between India and Pakistan.

The film, which stars Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur, follows the story of a maverick pilot, Wing Commander Kumar Om Ahuja, and his tireless search for the truth about his disappearance. With its gripping storyline and impressive cast, Sky Force has become the first big hit of 2025, giving a much-needed boost to Akshay Kumar's career after a string of failures. This is his first big hit since Sooryavanshi (2021).

However, the film has not been without controversy, having been banned in several countries in the Middle East, including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman. The reason for the ban is unknown, but it is believed to be due to the film's depiction of tensions between India and Pakistan, a common reason for similar Bollywood films to face bans in the region. Despite this, Sky Force is expected to continue performing well at the box office, with its Hindi 2D format dominating sales.

As the film continues to soar at the box office, it will be interesting to see how it performs in the coming days. With its strong storyline and impressive cast, Sky Force is sure to be a hit among movie-goers. The film's success is also a testament to the power of Bollywood films in captivating audiences and generating buzz.
