2026 Acura RSX: Electric Luxury SUV Revival

Acura's next-generation electric vehicle, the 2026 Acura RSX, is set to revolutionize the luxury EV market with its coupe-like silhouette and emphasis on performance and style, marking a new direction for the performance brand.

The all-electric premium SUV, based on the Japanese automaker's Markitect design, is currently undergoing prototype road testing in a unique camouflage wrap. Production is scheduled to begin later this year at the Honda EV Hub in Ohio, which will also manufacture internal combustion, hybrid-electric, and battery-electric vehicles on the same production line. The facility will be equipped with advanced manufacturing processes and materials to achieve high quality, efficiency, and value.

The return of the RSX nameplate to Acura after a long hiatus has sparked mixed reactions from car enthusiasts, with some expressing disappointment and frustration over the decision to revive the name for an electric compact crossover rather than a sport compact car. Nevertheless, the new RSX will be built on Honda's in-house platform, using the Asimo OS, and will feature a design that pays homage to the original RSX while being vastly different from it.

As Acura strengthens its lineup with the arrival of the new compact SUV, the ADX, and prepares to launch the 2026 RSX, the brand is solidifying its position in the luxury EV market.
