Aashiqui 3 Delayed: Anurag Basu Clarifies Reason
The delay has sparked speculation, but Basu's clarification has put rumors to rest, and the focus is now on the film's completion and release. As the film's storyline and music are eagerly anticipated, the wait for Aashiqui 3's release will be a long one, but fans are hopeful that it will be worth it.

Director Anurag Basu has denied reports that the release of his upcoming film Aashiqui 3 has been pushed due to the success of Mohit Suri's Saiyaara, instead citing scheduling issues with lead actor Kartik Aaryan and his own commitments.
The film, which also stars Sreeleela, was initially expected to release during Diwali 2025 but has now been pushed to 2026. Basu asserts that Aashiqui 3 and Saiyaara are "completely different" films and that comparisons between them are inevitable but not a reason for the delay. The theme of love, separation, and unconditional devotion is a common thread in both his and Mohit Suri's films, but the stories are entirely different.
Kartik Aaryan was tied up with Karan Johar's film, Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri, while Basu was busy with promotions for Metro... In Dino. The film has only half of its shoot remaining and is expected to resume soon, aiming for completion within a month. Basu claims that the delay is not due to creative overlaps, but rather due to scheduling issues.
With the release of Aashiqui 3 now pushed to 2026, fans will have to wait a little longer to see Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela on the big screen. However, with Basu's assurance that the film is nearing completion, expectations are high for this upcoming musical drama.
