Ghost of Yōtei: Lo-Fi Mode Unveiled with Japanese Art Inspired Consoles
The game's Lo-Fi mode and limited edition consoles showcase the attention to detail and commitment to Japanese culture that Sucker Punch has brought to the game, making it a must-play for fans of action-adventure games and Japanese folklore, with its release on October 2, 2025, marking a major milestone in the gaming calendar.

Sucker Punch's upcoming game, Ghost of Yōtei, is set to feature a new Lo-Fi mode in collaboration with Japanese director Shinichirō Watanabe, replacing the game's soundtrack with calming lo-fi beats and creating a meditative atmosphere, as part of its series of new features and game modes.
The game, a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, is a samurai game launching on PS5 in October, with a story inspired by Japanese folklore, following a ronin named Atsu as she hunts down the outlaws who killed her family. The open world is designed for player choice, allowing players to focus on exploration, combat, or other elements, with combat designed to evoke the feel of a classic samurai movie.
In addition to the Lo-Fi mode, the game will also feature a "Miike mode" for more intense action and a "Kurosawa mode" for a black-and-white aesthetic, as well as an expanded photo mode. A mysterious wolf companion and a camp mechanic are also introduced, adding new mechanics to the game. The game is currently available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store and is set to release on October 2, 2025.
To coincide with the game's release, Sony Interactive Entertainment has unveiled two limited edition PS5 console designs inspired by Ghost of Yōtei, featuring intricate designs rooted in traditional Japanese art, specifically kintsugi and Sumi-e. The consoles come with a special maker's seal and a matching DualSense wireless controller, and will be available in two bundles, including a digital copy of the game, pre-order content, and PSN avatars.
The release of Ghost of Yōtei is highly anticipated, with its unique blend of Japanese folklore, samurai combat, and open-world exploration, and the limited edition consoles are sure to be a hit with fans of the game and Japanese art alike.
