Neeraj Chopra has secured the title at the Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025, throwing an impressive 86.18m and outperforming a world-class field of past Olympic and World champions at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.
The event, which marked India's debut as host of a World Athletics Gold-level international javelin event, featured a stacked lineup of 12 global stars, including Thomas Röhler and Julius Yego. Julius Yego of Kenya won silver, and Sri Lanka's Rumesh Pathirage took bronze. The Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025 was co-organised by Neeraj Chopra, JSW Sports, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), and World Athletics.
World Athletics Vice President Adille Sumariwalla has hailed Neeraj Chopra as the best athlete India has ever produced, terming him a phenomenal talent. Chopra's recent achievements include winning two gold medals, a world championship, and Olympic Games, as well as setting a world record. He also claimed his second title at the 64th Ostrava Golden Spike event, throwing 85.29m and registering his 24th straight top-two finish.
