Suzuki Car Prices Rise with New Levy
The introduction of the NEV levy and increased sales tax rate have resulted in significant price hikes for various car models in Pakistan, with Pak Suzuki Motor Company and Lucky Motor Corporation revising their prices to reflect the changes, affecting the overall cost of owning a vehicle in the country.

Pak Suzuki Motor Company has increased the prices of its vehicles in Pakistan due to the introduction of a new National Electric Vehicle (NEV) levy and increased sales tax rate, effective from July 1, 2025, with some models experiencing a price hike of over Rs186,000.
The price revision applies to all internal combustion engine motor vehicles and motorcycles, with exemptions for new energy vehicles, vehicles manufactured for export, and those belonging to diplomatic missions and international organizations. The revised prices for all Suzuki car models in Pakistan include Federal Excise Duty, sales tax, and NEV Levy, excluding Advance Income Tax. The Alto VXL AGS has seen the highest price increase of Rs186,446.
Similarly, Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) has also announced a price hike for several KIA car models, effective from July 1, 2025, due to the imposition of the NEV Levy, continued depreciation of the Pakistani Rupee, and rising international freight costs. The revised ex-factory prices will affect multiple models, with some experiencing significant hikes, including a PKR 700,000 price increase for the Sorento HEV AWD and Carnival.
The price hikes have been implemented due to tax-related changes, with no change in production or operational costs. Customers who have placed orders on or after July 1, 2025, will be subject to the revised ex-factory price, and any additional duties, taxes, or charges imposed by the government will be borne by the customer.
