Rhode Island Celebrates 4th July with Fireworks

The celebrations will kick off with various events, including Block Island's 40th annual parade on July 4, which will feature floats, cars, and music. Cumberland's Arnold Mills Parade will also take place on July 4, offering food, music, and awards. In addition, several fireworks displays are scheduled, including Newport's display on July 4 at 9:15 pm, which can be best viewed from westward-facing spots along Newport Harbor.
Other notable events include Portsmouth's fireworks show on July 5 at 9:15 pm, featuring hayrides and a tractor show, and South Kingstown's Fourth of July Celebration on July 4, which will include food, concessions, and a live concert culminating in fireworks. Warwick's fireworks display will take place on July 3, with designated viewing areas at Oakland Beach, O'Hara Baseball field, and Warwick City Park.
Meanwhile, Rhode Island officials are emphasizing the importance of safety during the holiday weekend. The Fire Marshal has warned against the use of personal fireworks, citing their illegality in the state and potential dangers. Exceptions include handheld sparklers, but children under 16 are advised not to use them. Additionally, Warwick police will be conducting boating under the influence patrols, urging the public to "boat responsibly" and keep waterways safe.
