A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck central Iran, just outside the city of Semnan, approximately 210km east of Tehran, as the country continues to exchange missile fire with Israel, with the conflict resulting in significant loss of life and raising concerns about the country's stability.

The quake's epicentre was at a shallow depth of 35 meters, and this comes as the United Nations' nuclear watchdog has warned against attacks on nuclear facilities, citing the risk of radioactive releases. The conflict between Iran and Israel has been escalating, with Israel claiming that Iran is on the verge of developing nuclear weapons, while Iran maintains that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.

The Iranian government has promised to provide aid to affected areas, following a series of earthquakes that have struck the country in recent days, including a 5.9-magnitude earthquake that struck northern Iran on Tuesday, causing widespread disruption and injuring at least 20 people. The conflict has resulted in 639 deaths in Iran, according to the Human Rights Activists News Agency.

As the situation in Iran continues to unfold, concerns about the country's stability and the potential for further conflict are growing, with the international community calling for a peaceful resolution to the conflict and an end to the violence that has been plaguing the region.
