BBL 2025 Season Heats Up with Pakistani Stars
With the likes of Sam Curran, Alex Hales, Lockie Ferguson, and Tim Southee also available for the BBL finals, the competition is expected to be fierce. Most players are available for at least six regular season matches, making for a thrilling season ahead.

The Big Bash League (BBL) season 15 draft pool has been updated with new entrants, including Pakistan's leg spinner Usama Mir and pacer Mohammad Hasnain, as over 600 international cricketers prepare for the June 19 draft.
Pakistani players Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shadab Khan are among the top nominees for the draft, with Afridi set to make his BBL debut in BBL|15. The 25-year-old left-arm speedster is available for the entire season and finals campaign, making him a prime target for teams. However, the Brisbane Heat, who hold the No.1 pick, may not select him due to already having a left-arm quick in their squad.
The BBL|15 draft features a strong lineup of international players, including England's Laurie Evans, Afghanistan's Waqar Salamkheil, and India's Astika Bhatia for the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). Pakistan women's captain Fatima Sana is part of the WBBL 11 nomination list, alongside big names like England's Heather Knight and India's Jemimah Rodrigues. The Sydney Sixers are the only club yet to confirm a pre-signed overseas player for BBL|15.
The BBL|15 draft is set to take place on June 19, and with so many talented players available, it promises to be an exciting season. Fans will be eagerly waiting to see which teams will pick up the top nominees, including Shaheen Afridi and other Pakistani stars.
