Egypt and Mauritania have signed 13 agreements and memoranda of understanding across various sectors, aiming to bolster bilateral relations and promote investment and trade. The agreements were signed during the second joint committee meeting held in Nouakchott, covering areas such as bilateral investment, labor, education, and fisheries.
The meeting discussed regional and international issues, including the Palestinian issue, Libya, Sudan, and efforts to combat terrorism. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty led a delegation to the meetings of the Joint Cooperation Committee and the Egyptian-Mauritanian Economic Forum, where the two sides agreed to hold joint economic forums annually to promote investment and trade, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, and energy.
The agreements included a deal for the delivery of the Ould Tlamid Library and an extension of the Nouakchott tramway project. The committee also discussed ways to strengthen economic and trade relations, with a focus on mutual concerns and regional challenges. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty will hold bilateral talks with Mauritanian officials to further discuss these issues and promote cooperation between the two countries.
