Sherfane Rutherford Joins Barbados Royals for CPL 2025
The upcoming season promises to be thrilling, with a strong lineup and experienced players like Holder and Rutherford set to take the field, vying for the championship title in the Caribbean Premier League 2025.

Sherfane Rutherford has been traded to the Barbados Royals for the upcoming Caribbean Premier League 2025, bolstering their already powerful batting lineup with the likes of Rovmann Powell, David Miller, Quinton de Kock, and Rahkeem Cornwall.
In exchange for Rutherford, the Royals will send Jason Holder and Alick Athanaze to the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Holder, a seasoned West Indian all-rounder, has been a key player for the Royals since the league's inception in 2013 and was instrumental in their championship wins in 2014 and 2019. Athanaze, 26, had a modest season in 2024, scoring 179 runs for the Royals.
The addition of Rutherford to the Barbados Royals is expected to make their batting lineup even more formidable, posing a significant challenge to other teams in the league. With the CPL 2025 scheduled to run from August 14 to September 21, fans can look forward to exciting matches and intense competition.
As the Caribbean Premier League 2025 approaches, the trade between the Barbados Royals and the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots sets the stage for an exciting season, with Rutherford's arrival likely to make a significant impact on the Royals' performance.
