Harsh Dubey, a 22-year-old left-arm spinner from Vidarbha, has been selected to join the India A team for their upcoming tour of England, following an impressive Ranji season where he took a record-breaking 69 wickets.

Dubey's journey to this achievement began when his parents, Surendra and Jyoti, made the sacrifices of quitting their jobs to support his cricket dream. His father, a CISF employee, took voluntary retirement, and his mother gave up her teaching career to focus on her son's future. Dubey's cricketing journey started when he was introduced to coach Dilip Das at a cricket academy, where he developed his spin technique, which caught the attention of selectors.

Dubey made his Ranji Trophy debut in 2022 and has since played three seasons, taking 97 wickets in 18 first-class matches. He recently made his IPL debut for SunRisers Hyderabad, replacing Australian opener Travis Head, who was ruled out due to a COVID-19 infection. Dubey's left-arm orthodox bowling has been notable for its turn and his ability to flight the ball even in short formats.

The India A team, led by experienced batsman Abhimanyu Easwaran, will play two four-day matches and an intra-squad match against the senior Indian Test team in England. Dubey's selection is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the sport, and he will look to make a strong impression on the tour.

As Dubey departs for England with the India A team, he will be looking to build on his impressive performances in the Ranji Trophy and IPL. With his unique spin technique and ability to perform under pressure, Dubey is certainly a player to watch in the future.
