Mehbooba Mufti, PDP chief and former J&K CM, has urged PM Modi to prioritize dialogue with Pakistan over hostilities, citing the human cost of conflict evident in the deaths of children on both sides, including those killed in Pakistani shelling in Poonch and recent terror attacks like Pahalgam.

Mehbooba emphasized that a military solution is not possible and only leads to more suffering, calling for peaceful coexistence and engagement between the two nations. She expressed concern over the deaths of children in unprovoked firing by Pakistan and appealed to the leadership of India and Pakistan to end the military action and resolve the tensions between the two countries.

PDP legislator Waheed Para also appealed for dialogue, stating that J&K bears the brunt of India-Pakistan hostilities and it's time to start talking. Mehbooba referred to the Pulwama and Pahalgam terror attacks, saying these events brought the country to the verge of a catastrophe, and condemned the military action by both sides, which she believes treats symptoms, not the root cause, and does not bring permanent peace.

Mehbooba Mufti's appeal for dialogue and restraint comes at a critical time, with tensions between India and Pakistan running high. Her emphasis on the need for peaceful coexistence and engagement highlights the importance of finding a lasting solution to the conflict, one that prioritizes the well-being and safety of civilians, particularly children, on both sides.
