Blackout Pakistan: Security Measures Intensify Amid Tensions
The security measures are part of a broader effort to protect civilians and maintain public order, with authorities working to minimize the risk of harm and ensure the safety of all citizens. The situation remains fluid, with ongoing developments and updates expected in the coming days.

Rawalpindi's civil defence authorities have expanded the deployment of scouts and volunteer rescuers to tehsils across the Rawalpindi Division in response to escalating tensions with India, with 7,500 volunteers placed on high alert and receiving ongoing training in emergency response and first aid.
The move comes after Indian strikes across the Line of Control (LoC) targeted civilian areas and places of worship, resulting in the deaths of at least 26 civilians and injuries to 46 others. Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shot down five Indian fighter jets and an Israeli-made Heron drone in response, prompting authorities to declare a state of rescue emergency in all six districts and 27 tehsils of the division.
In Sindh, the Home Department has placed police and all law enforcement agencies on high alert, with the Home Minister instructing the immediate activation of civil defence measures, including warning sirens and public shelters. The alert is part of a broader effort to maintain public order and security coordination amid heightened tensions along the eastern border.
In Rawalpindi, a complete blackout has been ordered in all private housing societies from 7pm to 5am, with street lights switched off throughout the night and residents required to turn off all exterior lights. Residents and businesses are also advised to keep windows fully covered and limit interior lighting to avoid unnecessary travel during blackout hours.
As the situation continues to develop, authorities in Sindh and across the country remain vigilant, with a focus on maintaining public safety and security. The expanded deployment of scouts and volunteer rescuers, combined with the activation of civil defence measures, aims to ensure a swift and effective response to any emerging threats.
